1/32" Column-to-Valve Fused Silica Adapter up to 350° C for OD 0.50 < 0.80 mm

This one-piece 1/32” adapter fits standard fused silica tubing/columns with ID 0.32 mm and  OD 0.50 0.80 mm. A VICI one-piece adapter is essentially a zero-dead-volume reducing ferrule designed for use in fittings where the polyimide ferrule will not be removed. Connection and disconnection can be done by simply loosening the fitting nut and sliding the tube in or out.

Made of polyimide with 40% graphite, specially prepared to maximize mechanical stability at high temperatures, this adapter provides reliable performance up to 350 °C. Small blocks are subjected to extreme loads by a process known as hot isostatic pressing, with individual ferrules subsequently machined from these blocks. The result of this two-step process is a fused silica adapter with high temperature stability that far exceeds that of parts produced by conventional molding.

Note: The determining factor in selecting an adapter is the fused silica tubing’s outer diameter (OD).

• Use only polymeric ferrules for 1/16" and 1/32" external fitting details. Metal ferrules might distort the fitting.

• If a fused silica tube breaks off in a through-type union, remove the nuts and the tube opposite the broken one. Clear the fitting by passing a drill or wire of the appropriate diameter into the unbroken side and through the center of the fitting. Our ferrule removal kits (FRK1 for 360 µ and 1/32”; FRK2 for 1/16”) can be used to remove ferrules from all types of fittings.
