This microvolume (1 μl) manual injector is for a replacement valve assembly for Thermo Scientific SOLA analyzers. It’s designed for high-temperature samples for use with 1/16” valves and 0.75 mm ports. It can be used to alternate between two different samples. Each time the valve is switched, a sample is injected (see diagram below).
When the two sample inlets are connected in series, the valve injects the sample each time the valve switches. This is particularly useful in heavy duty cycle operations to minimize valve wear. When the sample/waste and pump/column connections are swapped, the valve can be used to inject the same sample onto two different columns, in alternation.
This injector is specified for a maximum pressure of 150 psi and a maximum temperature of 175° C. VICI sample injectors are made of Nitronic 60 with a rotor made of Valcon P.
